WoodWing announces support for Adobe's Digital Viewer Technology
The news was revealed during the WoodWing World Tour in Zurich, where publishing customers are immersed in news and presentations about their industry.
June 9 (Zürich, Switzerland) –WoodWing Software, a leading supplier of innovative cross-media publishing solutions, today announced that its flagship product Enterprise will support Adobe's upcoming viewer technology for tablets like the iPad, smartphones and other devices.
WoodWing's Enterprise publishing system provides publishers a flexible and scalable workflow system to collaborate efficiently, and to deliver multimedia content to a variety of output channels, including print, online and mobile.
"WoodWing and Adobe have been collaborating closely over the years," said Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software. "Adobe recently announced its digital viewer technology, and we've been working closely together with them to leverage our iPad experience and ensure that WoodWing's efficient tablet creation tools and workflow can also be used to publish to the Adobe viewer when it arrives later this year. By extending our Enterprise publishing platform to support Adobe's upcoming viewer technology, too, we enable our customers to choose the technological solution that best suits their needs. "
WoodWing already has a proven track record when it comes to providing cross-media publishing solutions that include iPad support. Approximately 10 iPad titles using WoodWing's digital magazine tools are currently live in the App Store. New titles are on the way, including the renowned Sport Illustrated title from Time Inc.
"The support of Adobe's viewer technology in Enterprise will enable our customers to profit from our secure database-driven workflow solution, and to output to all devices Adobe will support," Schut added. "In addition to that, we will continue to enhance the WoodWing Reader App so that publishers in need of a efficient solution today, or that wish to work with CS4, can move forward while safeguarding their investment. We will also extend our offering to include services that allow publishers to deeply customize the Reader App we're providing. That will maximize their possibilities to offer a unique experience for each brand."
WoodWing will announce more details about the support for Adobe's new technologies once details become publicly available.
